on the provisional application of the Agreement on the provisional arrangements for economic relations between the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the People's Republic of Bulgaria, signed in Prague on 25 April 1948.
According to Article 1 of the Act of 4 July 1923, No 158 Coll., on the provisional treatment of trade relations with foreign persons, I declare:
According to the Resolution of the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic of 27 April 1948 and with the agreement of the President of the Republic, the Agreement on the provisional arrangements for economic relations between the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the People's Republic of Bulgaria, signed in Prague on 25 April 1948, is hereby entered into force with effect from 9 May 1948.

Agreement
on the provisional arrangements for economic relations between the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the People's Republic of Bulgaria.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, wishing to consolidate and facilitate, in the spirit of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the People's Republic of Bulgaria, signed in Prague on 23 April 1948, the economic ties which connect both states, have decided to enter into the Trade and Navigation Treaty Agreement on the provisional arrangements for economic relations and have agreed on the following:
The Contracting Parties shall grant each other reciprocal treatment in accordance with the most favourable principle on all matters relating to customs and import and export charges, national taxation of imported goods and all provisions and formalities for import and export.
In each respect, physical and legal persons of both States will enjoy, under conditions of reciprocity in the territory of the other Contracting State, such advantages as the most favoured physical and legal persons in all matters relating to trade, industry and navigation and other types of business.
The Contracting Parties shall authorise each other to establish and operate a trade representative whose legal status will be determined by a special agreement between the Parties, which shall become an integral part of this Interim Agreement.
Both Contracting Parties shall, as far as possible, facilitate the carriage of railway services to their territories at reasonable rates and shall agree on the basis of the reciprocity of the agreement needed for that purpose.
Provisions of this The agreements shall not apply to rights and privileges which are or will be granted by one of the Contracting Parties in order to facilitate border contact with neighbouring States in a zone not exceeding 15 km from each side of the border.
The two parties shall enter into negotiations as soon as possible to conclude a trade and navigation contract.
This Agreement shall be ratified and the instruments of ratification exchanged in Sofia as soon as possible.
The Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of ratification.
However, both Parties agree that this Agreement shall enter into force on 14 days after its signature.
Written in Prague on 25 April 1948 in two original copies, each in the Czech and Bulgarian languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
