THE LAW
of 18 December 1969
on Honours for Merit on the People's militia
The Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
§ 1
In order to appreciate the extraordinary merits of the People's Militia, honours are established for the merits of the People's Militia I. and II.
§ 2
(1) The Honours of Merit for the People's Militia of Grade I are awarded to individuals and to the Collectibles for extraordinary, long-standing merit for the construction of the People's Militia, for the continued significant achievements in their activities and for the continuous creation of suitable conditions for their security and construction.
(2) The Honours for Merit of the People's Militia II are awarded to individuals and to the Collective for a particularly active activity, the consistently good performance of all tasks and for successful assistance in building and securing the activities of the People's Militia.
§ 3
Honours The President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, acting on a proposal from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, gives credit for the People's militia.
§ 4
(1) The Medal of Merit for the People's Militia of 1st degree is in the shape of a medal made of white metal, on whose face is depicted a five-pointed star with a pervasive relief of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The laurel branch is located downstairs. A horizontally positioned machine gun is shown on the reverse, over which is vertically laid the lip branch. There's a sign down there saying, "People's Milice." The ribbon is red-blue-silver-blue-red in ratio 11: 6: 4: 6: 11. The medal is attached to the ribbon by a hanging buckle in the shape of a label with an emblem of the People's militia made of white metal. Medal diameter is 33 mm.
(2) The Honours for Merit of the People's Militia I. is worn on the left side of the breast for Merit Honours - 10 years of the People's Militia I. degree. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long, the centre of which contains a miniature emblem of the People's militia made of white metal.
§ 5
(1) The Honours for Merit of the People's Militia of Grade II shall be of the same form and dimensions as the Honours for Merit of Class I; The medal and hanging buckle are embossed with yellow metal. The ribbon is red-blue-oblong-blue-red in ratio 11: 6: 4: 6: 11.
(2) The Honours for Merit of the People's Militia II is worn on the left side of the breast for Merit - 10 years of the People's Militia II. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long, the centre of which contains a miniature emblem of the People's militia made of yellow metal.
§ 6
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
