of 21 May 2009
on the issue of commemorative silver CZK 200 to the 400th anniversary of the death of Rabi Jehuda Löwa ben Becalel
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll.:
§ 1
(1) On the 400th anniversary of the death of the great Jewish scholar Rabi Jehud Löwa ben Becalel, a commemorative silver two hundred crown ("two hundred crown") is issued.
(2) Two hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version intended for collector's purposes with a polished field of coin and matte relief (hereinafter referred to as the special version).
(3) Two hundred korona in normal and special design is rolled from an alloy containing 900 parts of silver and 100 parts of copper. The weight of two hundred crowns is 13 g, its diameter is 31 mm and its strength is 2,35 mm. The edge of two hundred crowns in normal version is serrated, the edge of two hundred crowns in special version is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.900 * 13 g *." In the case of an embossing of two hundred crowns in normal and special design, the tolerance shall be 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,15 mm in thickness. In mass, the tolerance shall be up to 0,26 g and in the silver content shall be up to 1%.
§ 2
(1) On the face of two hundred crowns is a composition of four six-pointed David stars of different sizes, on which in negative letters are written the years resembling pogroms against the Jewish population in the Czech countries. The number at the upper left edge of David's greatest star, beginning with "185", is incomplete. The numbers "8" are represented in different ways and the digits "0" are stylized into the shape of a circle. The name of the state is "CZECH REPUBLIC" at the left, lower and right edges of the two hundred crowns. The individual letters in the word "CZECH" are different in height. The two-line denomination of the coin with the abbreviation "200 CZK" is on the right edge of David's biggest star. The mark of the mint that struck the two hundred crown is placed between the word "Republic" in the name of the state and the right edge of David's greatest star.
(2) On the reverse of the two hundred crown is the outline of the figure Golem. Between the contour of the Golem character and the circumference of the two hundred crowns are in the negative letter mirror-inverted Hebrew texts from the book Talmud. The four-line text "RABI JEHUDA LÖW BEN BECALEL" is in the middle of the character of Golem and below it is "1609 - 2009." Behind the words "BEN" and "BECALEL" there is a dot. The initials of the author of the two-hundred crown, MgA. Josef Šafářík, are placed on the right of the letter "în'
(3) The picture of the two hundred crown is given in the annex to this decree.
§ 3
This Decree takes effect on 17 June 2009.
