of 11 March 1976
on the Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
The Bureau of the Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has acted in accordance with Article 58 (3) of Constitutional Law No. 143 / 1968 Coll., on the Czechoslovak Federation, on the following legal measure:
(1) The office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (hereinafter referred to as "the Office") ensures the performance of tasks related to the performance of the functions and activities of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. Within its framework, the Military Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic ("the Military Office ') is as a special organisational unit for tasks associated with the function and activity of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic as Chief Commander of the Armed Forces.
(2) The office manages Prague Castle and its associated buildings and takes care of them as the seat of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and an important historical monument to our people.
(1) The President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic appoints and denies the Head of the Office under his authority.
(2) The President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic appoints and removes the Chief of the Military Office under his direct authority.
The Office may require reports and explanations from the public authorities in matters falling within its competence to carry out its tasks.
(1) Act No. 176 / 1968 Coll., on the Office of the President of the Republic, as amended by Act No. 129 / 1970 Coll.
(2) Without prejudice to Government Regulation No. 55 / 1954 Coll., on the Protected Area of Prague Castle.
This legal measure shall take effect on the date of its publication.
