GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 15 May 2017
on the valuation awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Government orders pursuant to § 49 (6) of Act No. 218 / 2000 Coll., on budgetary rules and on the amendment of certain related laws (budgetary rules), as amended by Act No. 26 / 2008 Coll.:
Subject matter
This regulation regulates awards awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the dissemination of the reputation of the Czech Republic abroad.
Valuation
(1) The award consists of Gratias agit, diploma and etue.
(2) The Gratias agit award consists of a sculpture made of cut glass in the form of a stylized globe on which the text "Czech Republic, Gratias Agit Prize, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic" accompanied by a large national character of the Czech Republic, calendar year of award, facsimile signature of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, his name and surname.
Valuation conditions
(1) The award is granted to a natural or legal person. A natural person proposed for the award of an award which died after the approval of the proposal pursuant to Article 4 (3) may be awarded the award in memoriam.
(2) The following criteria shall be taken into account when selecting the person proposed for the award of the valuation:
(a) extraordinary merit in spreading the reputation of the Czech Republic abroad,
b) Lifelong activities for the benefit of the Czech Republic carried out abroad,
c) Lifelong support for building friendly relations of the Czech Republic with other countries.
Application for valuation
(1) An application for an award may be submitted by a natural or legal person to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will do so abroad through the Czech representative office. The application may be submitted by 31 December of the year preceding the calendar year of the award of the valuation.
(2) The application for an award must be submitted in writing and must contain:
(a) the name, surname, nationality and residence of the person proposed for the award, if any, of the natural person;
(b) the name and registered office of the person proposed for the award, if any, of the legal person; and
(c) the justification of the proposal.
(3) Proposals are evaluated and approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Valuation transmission
The award ceremony awarded by the Minister for Foreign Affairs shall take place once in a calendar year.
Efficacy
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 June 2017.
