to be issued Order of navigation safety on inland waterways
The Federal Ministry of Transport provides, pursuant to Sections 17 and 24 of Act No. 26 / 1964 Coll., on Inland Navigation:
Preliminary provisions
In order to ensure the safety and continuity of inland navigation and to maintain order on inland waterways, the Order of Navigation Security (hereinafter referred to as the Order), annexed to this Decree, is published (1).
Scope
(1) The Order applies to all vessels without distinction of flag which use waterways in the territory of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The Order contains:
(a) basic rules on navigation which apply in principle to all inland waterways (Part I);
(b) additional provisions for each waterway (Part II);
(c) Annexes 1 to 10 which form an integral part of the Order.
Transitional provisions
(1) The colour and intensity of the lights prescribed for the signaling of vessels shall comply with the requirements laid down in Articles 1.01, 3.14 and 3.15 and Annex 9 to the Order no later than 1 January 1976.
(2) The audible signals of vessels must comply with the requirements of Article 4.01 and Annex 9. Order as from 1 January 1975 at the latest, if these requirements did not have to be met already under previous legislation.2)
(3) Cargo marks on board vessels shall comply with the requirements laid down in Article 2.04 and Annex 2 to the Order from the date laid down by the Federal Ministry of Transport.
(4) Small vessels shall comply with the conditions of technical and operational competence and equipment referred to in Articles 9.01 and 9.02 and Annex 10. Order no later than 1 January 1975.
Repeal
They shall be deleted:
(a) Decree of the Minister for Transport No 51 / 1956 Coll., on inland navigation safety,
(b) Decree No 5 / 1957 of the Ú. l., on the rules of navigation safety on inland waters, as amended by Regulations No 45 / 1960 Coll., and No 27 / 1964 Coll.,
(c) Decree No. 3 / 1970 Coll., which publishes the Order of Navigation Safety for the Czechoslovak section of the Danube, the navigable part of the river Moravia and Váhu and the lakes and water tanks used for navigation in the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Efficacy
This Decree shall take effect on 1 January 1974.

1) The Maritime Safety Order is issued as a special publication which can be obtained in the Transport and Communications Publishing Office, Prague 1, Hybernská 5. It can be seen in the Federal Ministry of Transport and at the State Navigation Administration in Prague and Bratislava and their branches in Děčín, Přerov and Komárna.
