on the provisional application of the Trade Agreement between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark, negotiated in Copenhagen on 5 February and 4 March 1948.
Under Article 1 of the Act of 4 July 1923, No 158 Coll., on the provisional treatment of trade relations with foreign countries, and under No VII of the Act of 22 June 1926, No 109 Coll., which partially amends the Customs Tariff Act for Czechoslovak customs territories and customs tariffs and lays down provisions concerning trade relations with foreign countries, I declare:
According to the Resolution of the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic of 13 April 1948 and with the agreement of the President of the Republic, a trade agreement between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark, negotiated in Copenhagen on 5 February and 4 March 1948, is hereby entered into force with effect from 20 April 1948.

Your Excellency,
Additional adjustment to the interim arrangements concerning the exchange of goods between Czechoslovakia and Denmark of 18 April 1925, negotiated in Prague on 4 July 1932, was agreed that the flounder (Helleflyder, Hippoglossus maximum), cooked, loaded in metal, airtight boxes, coming and coming from Denmark, imported into Czechoslovakia, would be subject to the duty rate of Kčs 360- per 100 kg under the Czechoslovak Customs Tariff.
Given that the monetary reform of 1945 changed the ratio of the Czechoslovak crown to foreign currencies, the autonomous duty rates of the Czechoslovak Customs Tariff were adjusted accordingly with effect from 1 July 1947.
The Czechoslovak Government has now decided to adjust the contractual rates. Therefore, the above duty rate on plaice, cooked, loaded in metal, airtight boxes, coming and originating in Denmark, imported into Czechoslovakia, will be subject to this adjustment.
Therefore, on behalf of the Czechoslovak Government, I would like to submit to Your Excellence the rate of duty to be imposed according to the above-mentioned Additional treatment on plaice, cooked, loaded in metal, airtight boxes, coming and originating in Denmark, imported into Czechoslovakia, is set at the amount of Kčs 600.- 100 kg from the date determined by the Czechoslovak Government. All other conditions of the abovementioned adaptations shall remain unchanged.

Your Excellency,
by note No 608 / 48, handed over to me on 5 February, Your Excellency kindly informed me that due to the changed course of the Czechoslovak crown on foreign currencies, the Czechoslovak Government intends to adjust the conventional duty rates of the Czechoslovak tariff. Therefore, on behalf of your government, you offered to the Danish Government that the rate of cooked plaice, loaded in metal, airtight boxes, arriving and originating in Denmark, agreed in the Additional arrangements negotiated in Prague on 4 July 1932 and the additional interim arrangements concerning the exchange of goods between Czechoslovakia and Denmark on 18 April 1925, should be increased with the Kčs 360.- to Kčs 600.- per 100 kg. The other conditions of the said adjustment remain unchanged.
In response, I have the honour to inform your Excellency that the Danish Government agrees with the proposal made in your aforementioned note, by increasing the rate to become applicable on the date determined by the Czechoslovak Government.
