Czechoslovak Jánošík Medal.
The Czechoslovak Jánošík Medal (in the next medal only) is established with the approval of the President of the Republic by the Czechoslovak Government as a military medal for those Czechoslovak partisans within the meaning of § 1 of Act No. 34 / 1946 Coll. and for those members of the Allied States who have made an excellent contribution to the organisation of Czechoslovak guerrilla troops or have won the battles of those units in the territory of the Czechoslovak Republic or outside its borders.
The medal has one degree and is awarded on a proposal from the Ministry of National Defence.
The medal shall be awarded by the President of the Republic, after the case of the Minister of National Defence or the commander of the army, if the President of the Republic empowers them to do so.
The medal is a 35 mm bronze target. The figure of Janošíkov is displayed on the face of the medal, and in parallel with its edge is the motto "War not even as a slave." On the back of the medal is the inscription "For courage in guerilla battles of Czechs and Slovaks 1939-1945" and under the year laurel smear. The medal ribbon is 40 mm wide, dark green, with a red 5 mm wide strip in the middle. The medal is worn in the order behind the Czechoslovak medal for valor before the enemy.
The medal is awarded only once, for life and free. In memoriam is not awarded. The decorated will also receive a decree confirming that he has been awarded the medal and that he is entitled to carry it.
In the event of death of a decorated person, medals and decrees shall be left to the heirs in memory. But they must not carry a medal.
The decorated medal is no longer awarded if the court has been sentenced for a crime which has in turn lost domestic and foreign orders, military and civil honours and honorary badges. In this case, the defendant is obliged to return the medal along with a decree from the Ministry of Defence.
The medal business is run by the Department of National Defence.
