THE LAW
of 14 December 1976
establishing the Order of Friendship
The Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
To appreciate the merits of establishing, consolidating and developing friendly relations with the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, as well as the merits of developing friendship, cooperation and peaceful coexistence between nations, the Order of Friendship is established.
The order of friendship is given to members of other states who have earned the right to establish, consolidate and develop friendly relations with the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, particularly in the field of political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation or who have earned the development of friendship, cooperation and peaceful coexistence between nations.
The Order of Friendship is given by the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(1) The order of friendship is the shape of a five-piece silver-plated starfish whose striped ray parts are finished with faceted Czech grenades. Between the parts are grooved interrays. The plastic medallion is filled with faceted Czech grenades on Wednesday. The upper part of the order badge is equipped with a perpendicular ear, through which the ring of rectangular hanging buckle of gold silver decorated with initials "CSSR." There's a matrix number engraved on the back of the hanging buckle. The ribbon is trapezoidal, 38 mm wide and 55 mm long, red, in the middle with a vertical stripe of alternating red and blue-white Czechoslovak state colours.
(2) If only the ribbon of distinction is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar of size 30x10 mm, on which is placed a gilded silver faceted Czech garnet at the left edge.
This Law shall take effect on 1 January 1977.
