supplementing Decree of the Ministry of Transport No. 17 / 1966 Coll., on Air Transport Regulations
The Federal Ministry of Transport provides in agreement with the participating central authorities pursuant to § 55 paragraph 1 of Act No. 47 / 1956 Coll., on Civil Aviation, and in order to implement the relevant provisions of Civil Code No. 40 / 1964 Coll. and Economic Code No. 109 / 1964 Coll.:
The Decree of the Ministry of Transport No 17 / 1966 Coll., on the Air Transport Regulations, is added as follows:
1. the following paragraphs 4 and 5 are added:
"(4) Passengers are obliged to show their identity when buying a ticket and before boarding the aircraft.
(5) Passengers shall be required to surrender to the carrier before boarding the aircraft for safety purposes, in particular weapons, explosives, ammunition, corrosive substances, radioactive materials, readily ignited objects, and to be subject to control measures by the carrier or national security authority to determine whether they are transporting such items. The transport of those items shall be decided by the carrier in accordance with Paragraph 40 of this Order. '
2. For Paragraph 39, a new Paragraph 40 is added:
Transport of air traffic safety goods
Air transport of items threatening the safety of air traffic, in particular weapons, explosives, ammunition, corrosive substances, radioactive materials, readily ignited objects, shall be permitted only with the prior consent of the carrier and under the conditions laid down therein. ';
3. The current paragraphs 40-44 are renumbered to 41-45.
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
