Government Regulation
of 14 February 1950
implementing the provisions of the Theater Act on the Establishment of Puppet Theatres and Theater Activities.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders pursuant to § 27 paragraph 2 of Act No. 32 / 1948 Coll., implementing the basic provisions on the establishment of theatres and on theatrical activities (theatrical Act):
They can set up and operate puppet theatre:
(a) the State, the county, the district or the municipality, after the association of districts and municipalities,
(b) folk cooperatives which form the agents of puppet theatre games or executive puppet artists and employees;
(c) other legal persons, in particular puppeteers' willing associations, who pursue non-profit-seeking cultural objectives.
(1) The operating permit for the permanent public operation of the puppet theatre is granted after the hearing by the competent professional and interest puppeteers' organization:
(a) for puppet theatres to be operated in the district of the municipality or district, the district national committee;
(b) in the case of puppet theatres to be operated in the territory, exceeding the district district or district district, the Regional National Committee;
(c) in the case of puppet theatres to be operated on a territory exceeding the district district, the Ministry of Education, Science and Art.
(2) The operating permit for the permanent public operation of the puppet theatre shall be granted for at least 3 years either for a fixed station or for a specific territory.
(3) The permission to perform a single public puppet show is granted by the District National Committee.
The proceeds of puppet theaters are to be used primarily for puppet purposes.
(1) The permit for the operation of puppet theatre games is granted by the Regional National Committee at the theatre works issued by the press, by the National Committee at the theatre works by the press not published by the Regional Committee. The authorisation shall be valid for the administrative district of the authority granting the authorisation.
(2) In the case of theatrical works registered in a manner determined by the Ministry of Education, Science and Art in agreement with the Ministry of Information and Education by the Order in the Official Journal, no authorisation shall be required under paragraph 1. However, the operation of these works should be announced at least 8 days before the implementation of the Regional National Committee.
(1) In carrying out the tasks set out in the Theater Act, they shall be requested where they relate to puppeteer's theatre, the synergies of the top professional and interest organisation of the puppeteer, which may carry out professional activities through the advice of puppeteers. These referees are also expert advisors to the relevant information boards.
(2) The Ministry of Education, Science and Art, in an agreement with the Ministry of Information and Information, will determine the decree in the Official Gazette, which is considered to be the top professional and interest organisation of the puppeteer.
The validity of all permits (licences) granted to puppet theatres until now shall expire no later than 6 months after the date on which this Regulation enters into force.
This Regulation shall not apply to non-public puppet shows, in particular school, family or other private, as well as puppet varieties, i.e. non-mechanical artistic production without stage action, carried out by specially modified puppets, to such puppet vending machines, astronomers, moving models, figural panoptics, puppet production of ventriloquists and shadowy not operated by puppets.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; They shall be carried out by the Minister for Education, Science and Art in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
