Law on the increase of the maintenance contribution

to increase the state contribution of the dependant.
The Provisional National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
§ 1.
(1) The State aid for maintenance, which was last fixed in the Czech and Moravian-Silesian Government Regulations of 10 July 1945, No 29 Coll., on the increase of the State aid for maintenance, and in Slovakia by the provisions of § 119 of the Law of 10 June 1943, No 80 of the Coll. on the modification of certain legal conditions related to the exercise of military and other similar services, is newly amended and is made for the person and day:
1. for the person who represents the household for the military service:
a) v Praze, v Brně, v Bratislavě a v Moravské Ostravě 34 Kčs,
b) v místech majících podle posledního sčítání lidu více než 25.000 obyvatelů 30 Kčs,
c) ve všech ostatních místech 26 Kčs.
2. for other justified:
a) v Praze, v Brně, v Bratislavě a v Moravské Ostravě 19 Kčs,
b) v místech majících podle posledního sčítání lidu více než 25.000 obyvatelů 16 Kčs,
c) ve všech ostatních místech 13 Kčs.
(2) In exceptional cases, worthy of a very special consideration, the maintenance allowances referred to in paragraph 1 shall be increased by up to a further 50%. The Ministry of the Interior shall, in agreement with the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Finance, issue detailed and binding directives governing the conditions for granting such an increase.
(3) The aggregate amounts of the maintenance allowance belonging to the eligible members of the military family may not exceed the following daily amounts:
a) v Praze, v Brně, v Bratislavě a v Moravské Ostravě 100 Kčs,
b) v místech majících podle posledního sčítání lidu více než 25.000 obyvatelů 85 Kčs,
c) ve všech ostatních místech 72 Kčs.
(4) A household representative shall be considered to be a wife, if she lives with a household member, otherwise - and on the same condition - the oldest of the persons entitled to the maintenance allowance.
§ 2.
The amount of the maintenance allowance (§ 1 (1) and (2)) and the sum of the amounts referred to in § 1 (3) may be converted by the Government by a regulation.
§ 3.
This Act shall take effect on 1 December 1945; It shall be implemented by the Home Secretary in agreement with the National Defence and Finance Ministers.
