THE LAW
of 4 March 1992
establishing military courts, their offices and districts
The Federal Assembly of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic decided on this law:
§ 1
Establishment of military courts
They shall be established:
a) a higher military court in Tábor and in its jurisdiction military district courts in Prague, České Budějovice, Pilsen and Litoměřice,
(b) a higher court-martial in Olomouc and, in its jurisdiction, military district courts in Hradec Králové, Brno and Olomouc;
(c) a higher court-martial in Trencin and within its jurisdiction, military district courts in Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Prešov.
Seats and districts of military courts
§ 2
(1) The seat of the higher military court in Tábor is the city of Tabor, the seat of the higher military court in Olomouc is the city of Olomouc and the seat of the higher military court in Trencin is the city of Trencin.
(2) The districts of the higher military courts are the same as those of the military perimeter courts established under their jurisdiction.
§ 3
a) The headquarters of the Military District Court in Prague is the capital city of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic of Prague and its district coincides with the territory of the capital of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic of Prague and the territory of the following districts: 1)
Benesov, Beroun, Kladno, Cologne, Kutna Hora, Mělnik, Mladá Byslav, Nymburk, Prague-East, Prague-West, Pribram, Rakovnice,
b) The seat of the Military District Court in České Budějovice is the town of České Budějovice and its district is the same as the territory of the following districts: 1)
České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Jindřich Hradec, Pelhrimov, Písek, Prachatice, Strakonice, Tábor,
(c) the seat of the Military District Court in Pilsen is the city of Pilsen and its district is the same as the territory of the following counties: 1)
Domazlice, Cheb, Karlovy Vary, Klatovy, Pilsen-town, Pilsen-south, Pilsen-North, Rokycany, Sokolov, Tachov,
(d) the seat of the Military District Court in Litoměřice is the town of Litoměřice and its perimeter is the same as the territory of the following districts: 1)
Česká Lípa, Decin, Chomutov, Jablonec nad Nisou, Liberec, Litoměřice, Louny, Most, Teplice, Ústí nad Labem,
(e) the seat of the Military District Court in Hradec Králové is the city of Hradec Králové and its district is the same as the territory of the following districts: 1)
Havlíček's Brod, Hradec Kralove, Chrudim, Jicin, Náhod, Pardubice, Speednov nad Priest, Semily, Svitavy, Trutnov, Ústí nad Orlicí,
(f) the seat of the Military District Court in Brno is the city of Brno and its district is the same as the territory of the following districts: 1)
Blansko, Brno- town, Brno, Breclav, Zlín, Hodonin, Jihlava, Kromeriz, Prostějov, Trebic, Uherské Hradiště, Vyškov, Znojmo, Ždar nad Sazavou,
(g) the seat of the Military District Court in Olomouc is the city of Olomouc and its perimeter is the same as that of the following counties: 1)
Bruntal, Frýdek-Místek, Karviná, Nové Jicin, Olomouc, Opava, Ostrava-town, Přerov, Šumperk, Vsetín,
(h) the seat of the Military District Court in Bratislava is the capital of the Slovak Republic of Bratislava and its district coincides with the territory of the capital of the Slovak Republic of Bratislava and the territory of the following districts: 2)
Bratislava-viek, Danube Streda, Galanta, Komárno, Left, Nitra, New Castle, Senica, Topoľčany, Trenčín, Trnava,
(ch) the seat of the Banská Bystrica Military District Court is the town of Banská Bystrica and its district is the same as the territory of the following counties: 2)
Banská Bystrica, Čadca, Dolný Kubín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Lucenec, Martin, Rezská Bystrica, Prievidza, Rimavská Sobota, Velký Krťí, Zvolen, Žiar nad Hronom, Žilina,
(i) the headquarters of the Prešov Military District Court is the city of Prešov and its district is the same as the territory of the following districts: 2)
Bardejov, Humenné, Košice, Košice-viek, Michalovka, Poprad, Prešov, Rožňava, Spišská Nová Ves, Old Výbubovňa, Svidník, Trebišov, Vranov nad Topľa.
Transitional and final provisions
§ 4
(1) The tasks of the existing military courts go from the date of application of this law to the military courts established by this law.
(2) Proceedings initiated before the date of application of this Act shall be completed according to the former jurisdiction. The trial of the Supreme Military Court in Pribram and the proceedings of the Senior Military Court in Tábor initiated before the effective date of this Act will be taken over and discussed by the newly established Senior Military Court in Tábor.
§ 5
The existing military courts set up by the Order of the President of the Republic of 3 January 1966 on the abolition of existing courts and the establishment of new military courts, with accessories thereto of 7 March 1969 and 28 January 1970, are hereby repealed.
§ 6
This Act shall take effect on 1 May 1992.
