Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:

Amendment of criminal law

the following Section 257b is inserted after Section 257a:
„§ 257b
(1) Anyone who harms a foreign object by spraying, painting or describing it with paint or other substances will be punished by deprivation of liberty for up to one year or by money punishment.
(2) By withdrawing liberty for six months to three years, or by punishable money, the offender shall be punished if, by the act referred to in paragraph 1, he causes significant damage or if he commits such an act again or commits such an act as a member of an organised group or if he commits such an act on matters which benefit from protection under special rules.
(3) By withdrawing liberty for two years to eight years, the perpetrator shall be punished if, by the act referred to in paragraph 1, he causes damage to a large extent. '

This Act shall take effect on 1 July 2001.
