Decret of the President of the Republic
of 19 October 1945
on the transitional arrangements for the National Bank of Czechoslovakia.
On the proposal of the Government and in agreement with the Slovak National Council, I establish:
The Czechoslovak National Bank, based in Prague, operates a sign bank throughout the national territory.
(1) The Slovak National Bank in Bratislava becomes the Regional Institute of the Czechoslovak National Bank and is referred to as "Národná banka Československá, oblastý ústav pre Slovensko."
(2) If there is talk of the Slovak National Bank in the rules of the period of non-freedom, perhaps the Czechoslovak National Bank is understood.
The National Bank of Czechoslovakia carries out its activities in the Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries under the Act of 14 April 1920, No. 347 Coll., on the Stock Bank of the sign, as amended by this Act amending and supplementing, and in Slovakia under the provisions of the Government Decree of 4 April 1939, No. 44 of the Slovak National Bank.
(1) The National Bank of Czechoslovakia is administered by a temporary administration appointed by the Government in agreement with the Slovak National Council.
(2) The temporary administration of the Czechoslovak National Bank is subject to all obligations and rights of the legal (statutory) bodies of the Czechoslovak and Slovak National Bank.
The Government is hereby authorised to carry out the assets of the two components of the sign constitution.
The provisions of Act No. 347 / 1920 Coll. as amended by the Act amending and supplementing this Act and the Government Decree No. 44 / 1939 Coll. in so far as they contravene the provisions of this Decree are repealed.
This Decision shall take effect on the day of its publication; it shall be carried out by all members of the Government.
