Slovak National Council
of 16 December 1965
on the competence of the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia
The Slovak National Council decided on this law:
(1) The Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia is part of the Czechoslovak Press Office. In this capacity, it also serves as a national and regional reporting authority of Slovakia.
(2) The Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia provides comprehensive information on the development and life of Slovakia and also informs about events in Czech regions and abroad.
Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia:
(a) procures, receives, processes and disseminates political, economic, cultural, sports and other news by word and image, as well as articles from Slovakia for all printing, radio and television, as well as other institutions, organisations, institutions and individuals in Slovakia and through the headquarters of the Czechoslovak Press Office to Czech regions and abroad;
b) accepts and processes news from the Czechoslovak Press Office by word and image and article material from Czech regions and from abroad for all printing, radio and television, as well as for other institutions, organisations, institutions and individuals in Slovakia,
(c) issue official texts and statements of the Slovak National Council, its bodies and interpretations on their behalf on behalf of the Slovak National Council,
d) issues and expands information and promotional materials with both Slovak and international language,
(e) carry out in Slovakia other tasks of promoting international cooperation in the fields of economics, science, technology, culture and tourism.
(1) In order to ensure its activities Czechoslovakia Press Office in Slovakia in particular:
a) is in close contact with the Bureau and other executive bodies of the Slovak National Council and informs the public of the activities of the Slovak National Council and its bodies;
(b) cooperate with National Front organisations, national committees, economic, social, cultural and scientific organisations and other institutions in Slovakia which provide it with timely and complete information for intelligence purposes;
(c) establish divergences and networks of rapporteurs and informants on the territory of Slovakia;
(d) use telecommunications in agreement with the competent authorities and establish its own telecommunications centres and facilities in Slovakia.
(2) The Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia can conduct business in the performance of its tasks.
(1) The head of the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia is the Director of the Czechoslovak Press Office for Slovakia, appointed and withdrawn by the Bureau of the Slovak National Council.
(2) The Director of the Czechoslovak Press Office for Slovakia is responsible for the activities of the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia to the Bureau of the Slovak National Council and to the Central Director of the Czechoslovak Press Office.
The Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia is a separate entity and its budget is part of the national budget of the Czechoslovak Press Office.
The internal organisation and principles of the work of the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia will be adapted by the organizational and operational rules, which will be issued by the Director of the Czechoslovak Press Office for Slovakia in accordance with the Statute of the Czechoslovak Press Office.
Regulation of the Slovak National Council No 140 / 1945 Zb. n. SNR on the Reporting Agency of Slovakia is hereby repealed.
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1966.
