THE LAW
of 30 November 1961
on road (road law)
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
(3) The payment of the price for the use of defined sections of motorways is not subject to motor vehicles and trailers
(a) fire protection;
(b) Police of the Czech Republic,
(c) Military police,
(d) medical and mining emergency services;
(e) medical services for the transport of sick and wounded;
(f) technical rescue services;
(g) vehicles which, as a general rule, provide for emergency water supplies used by owners who provide for mass supply of drinking water to the population;
(h) prison guards,
(i) used for the transport of severely disabled citizens receiving a contribution to the operation of a motor vehicle. (2a)
(1) Motorways and motorways marked with the relevant road signs 2b) can be used by a motor vehicle after payment of the fee for the use of motorways and motorways of the motorway type (hereinafter referred to as the fee).
(2) Motor vehicles must be marked on the motorway and motorway of the motorway type with a label showing the payment of the fee (the sticker).
(3) The fee is not subject to the motor vehicles referred to in Article 6 (3).
(4) The fee is payable per calendar year for motor vehicles
(a) up to a total weight of 3.5 tonnes 400 CZK,
b) with a total weight of over 3.5 tonnes up to 12 tonnes 1000 CZK,
c) with a total weight of over 12 tonnes 2000 CZK.
The total mass of the trailer shall be included in the total mass of the motor vehicle.
(1) The police of the Czech Republic are entitled to check compliance with the obligation to mark a motor vehicle using a motorway or highway type sticker in the framework of the supervision of the safety and fluidity of road operation2c.
(2) The purchase, distribution and sale of labels is provided by a legal person authorised by the Ministry of Transport.
(3) The money obtained from the payment of the fee is the income of the state budget and is intended to accelerate the development of the motorway network.
(1) The Federal Ministry of Transport will issue generally binding legislation for the implementation of this Act which:
(l) define the design of the sticker, the dimensions of the sticker and the way in which it is placed on the motor vehicle.
