THE LAW
of 14 March 2006
on the chronicles of municipalities
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:
Preliminary provisions
Each municipality leads the village's chronicle ("the chronicle '), which records reports of important and memorable events in the village for information and lessons to future generations.
Management and storage of chronicles
(1) The chronicle is kept as a handwritten book with numbered sheets or in electronic form followed by printing of numbered sheets after the closure of each calendar year on durable paper intended for documents1), which is secured by binding.
(2) An integral part of the chronicle is an annex which contains written, image or audio documents supplementing the chronicle entry.
(3) The village will ensure chronicle against loss, damage and unauthorised access.
Chronicle entry
The chronicle entry shall be made at least once per calendar year. The contents of the minutes shall be decided by the municipality.
Chronicle view and use of chronicle
Any person may consult the municipal authority at a specified time in the chronicle; if the viewing is made possible in the chronicle by hand or in the chronicle in the form of a printed paper book with numbered sheets, this is done under the supervision of the chronicler. A citizen of a municipality older than 18 years of age, as well as a person who is granted the right of a citizen of a municipality, may propose in writing amendments, additions or corrections to the chronicle. On the basis of these proposals, the municipality shall, as appropriate, correct, supplement or amend the chronicle entry.
Repeal
The following shall be deleted:
1. Act No. 80 / 1920 Coll. and n. on Memorial Books of the Municipality.
2. Government Decree No. 169 / 1932 Coll. and n., on Commonwealth Memorial Books.
Efficacy
That law shall take effect on the first day of the third calendar month following its publication.
