on the Long-term Trade Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia
On 13 February 1969, the Long-term Trade Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia was signed in Tunis.
Pursuant to Article 9 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 13 February 1969.
An amendment to Article 1 (3) of the Agreement was made in exchange for a note of 6 and 27 June 1969.
The Czech translation of the Agreement, as amended by the Amendment of 6 and 27 June 1969, shall be published at the same time.

LONG-TERM TRADE AGREEMENT
between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia, led by a desire to promote economic cooperation and develop trade relations between the two countries on the basis of the principles of equality and mutual advantages, have agreed as follows:
The Contracting Parties shall provide each other with treatment in accordance with the principle of most favourable treatment on all matters relating to trade between the two countries.
However, most-favoured-nation treatment shall not apply to advantages, concessions and exemptions granted or granted to neighbouring countries for the purpose of facilitating border traffic.
The most-favoured-nation treatment does not apply to the advantages, concessions and exemptions granted or granted by the Republic of Tunisia to one or more Arab Maghreb countries, France and the countries of the European Economic Community.
The exchange of goods between the two countries shall be carried out between 1 January 1969 and 31 December 1971 in accordance with the "A 'and" B' instruments annexed to this Agreement. The instruments of export and import may be adapted or supplemented by the Joint Commission referred to in Article 7.
The competent Czechoslovak and Tunisian authorities shall take all necessary measures to facilitate the export and import of goods listed in the "A 'and" B' lists annexed to this Agreement.
The Contracting Parties undertake, if necessary, to issue, through their competent authorities and in agreement with the laws and regulations in force in both countries, import and export authorisations up to the amounts indicated in the lists "A 'and" B' referred to in Article 2.
Import and export authorisations for imports and exports of goods whose values shown in "A 'and" B' lists will also be assessed in a blatant manner, or which are not mentioned in those lists.
Import and export of goods by this The agreements will be implemented under the terms of contracts concluded between Czechoslovak foreign trade organisations as separate legal entities or other Czechoslovak independent legal entities authorised under Czechoslovak law to conduct foreign trade on the one hand and Tunisian natural or legal persons on the other.
Payments resulting from the exchange of goods under this Agreement shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the Payment Agreement signed by the two Contracting Parties to the present day.
Taking into account the proper implementation of this The Agreement is hereby approved on behalf of the Joint Commission, composed of representatives of the governments of both countries. This Commission, which will meet at the request of one or the other Contracting Party, may, in particular, modify or supplement the documents referred to in Article 2 and propose measures to the governments of both countries to improve the commercial and payment relations of both countries.
The lists of goods "A 'and" B' referred to in Article 2 and the letters annexed to this Agreement shall form an integral part thereof.
This Agreement abolishes and replaces the Long-term Trade Agreement concluded on 4 December 1964 between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia.
It shall enter into force on the date of signature with effect from 1 January 1969 and shall expire on 31 December 1971.
After 31 December 1971, it shall be extended until 31 December 1972 and shall then be renewed in silence from year to year for a new period of 1 year, unless one or the other Party denies it in writing three months before the end of the year in question.
Done at Tunis, 13 February 1969, in duplicate in the French language, the two texts being equally authentic.
