on the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Argentine Republic
The Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Argentine Republic was signed in Buenos Aires on 13 December 1978. Pursuant to Article X of the Agreement, the Agreement entered into force on 2 June 1980.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on economic and technical cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Argentine Republic
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Argentine Republic
led by the desire to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries; and
Taking into account the common interest in promoting and expanding areas of economic and technical cooperation on the basis of equality, respect for independence and national sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs and mutual benefit,
they have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall develop efforts to contribute to the long-term development and expansion of economic and technical cooperation areas between the two countries in all sectors of mutual interest.
The Parties shall, as far as possible and in accordance with their respective legislation in force, encourage the implementation of economic and technical cooperation projects and shall create the necessary favourable conditions, including conditions for the establishment of new industrial plants, and the extension or modernisation of existing ones.
Cooperation under this Agreement shall include in particular:
(a) technical and economic studies for the implementation of projects of mutual interest;
(b) exchange and training of technicians and experts in the context of specific topics of cooperation;
(c) the conclusion of long-term purchasing contracts for the supply of food, raw materials and / or industrial products originating in both countries.
The Parties agree to conclude contracts between Czechoslovak organisations and Argentinian natural or legal persons on the basis of the world prices in force and under delivery and payment conditions to be laid down in each contract.
Payments resulting from operations under this Agreement shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. Trade agreements concluded between the Contracting Parties on 8 November 1973.
The Parties shall provide all assistance to the relevant natural or legal persons and organisations in order to facilitate the conclusion and execution of the contracts referred to in Article IV.
In accordance with their respective legislation in force, the Contracting Parties shall facilitate the issue of consent and authorisation for the supply of goods and services under this Agreement and for the entry and movement of persons from one country to another for the purposes foreseen by this Agreement.
In accordance with their respective legislation in force, the Contracting Parties shall facilitate customs procedures for imports and exports carried out under this Agreement and shall not impose restrictions.
Technical documentation and information exchanged between Czechoslovak organisations and Argentinian natural or legal persons under this Agreement may not be transmitted to persons or third-country organisations without prior agreement of the relevant stakeholders.
In order to implement this Agreement, the Parties shall use the Joint Commission established pursuant to Article 11 of the Trade Agreement of 8 November 1973.
The Joint Commission shall draw up economic and technical cooperation programmes, examine the possibilities for cooperation in other sectors and propose to the Parties the measures necessary to implement this Agreement.
This Agreement shall apply provisionally from the date of its signature; This Agreement shall enter into force on the day on which the Contracting Parties notify each other that they have been approved in accordance with their respective laws and regulations.
This Agreement shall apply for a period of five years from the date of its entry into force and shall be automatically extended for a period of one year if no Contracting Party denies it six months before the expiry of the relevant period.
The provisions of this Agreement shall apply to all operations which have been agreed during its validity and which will be in the state of implementation at the time of its validity.
Written in Buenos Aires on 13 December 1978 in two original copies in Czech and Spanish, the two texts being equally authentic.
