on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on cooperation in the field of tourism
On 8 June 1972, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed in Moscow.
Pursuant to Article 11 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 9 February 1973.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on cooperation in the field of tourism
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
in accordance with the principles of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, signed in Prague on 6 May 1970,
striving to further develop and strengthen brotherly relations based on the principles of proletarian internationalism,
with a view to creating the most favourable conditions for the development of tourism as one of the factors of deepening friendly ties and better understanding of the lives of the people of both states,
building on an interest in expanding tourism cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics,
have decided to conclude this Agreement and to that end have appointed their agents:
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic - Dr Emil Mišovský, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic,
Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics - Sergei Sergei Nikita, Chairman of the General Administration for Foreign Tourism of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics,
who, following the exchange of their full powers, found in good and proper form, have agreed as follows:
The Parties will expand and consolidate cooperation in the field of tourism aimed at improving the mutual familiarity of citizens of the two States with the achievements achieved in the building of socialism and communism in the areas of the economy, social development, culture and science, as well as with historical monuments, nature and monuments and historical and cultural traditions of both countries.
The Parties shall cooperate on the development of foreign tourism on the basis of equality and mutual advantages and shall facilitate the development of all forms of organised group and individual tourism, including trips by tourists from third countries.
The Parties shall promote permanent and close cooperation between the central authorities of foreign tourism of both States, as well as between other institutions, organisations and institutions dealing with foreign tourism issues.
In order to further develop mutual tourism, the Contracting Parties will implement measures to improve transport links between the two States.
The Contracting Parties shall promote, through appropriate tourism organisations, the permanent and systematic exchange of experience concerning both foreign and domestic tourism.
The Parties will actively assist the exchange of experts from different areas of foreign tourism, including the staff of both central and other foreign tourism authorities, travel agencies, hotels and restaurants, as well as researchers from tourism, teachers, students and journalists.
The conditions for the exchange of experts shall be governed by agreements negotiated between the competent authorities of the Contracting Parties.
The Parties shall contribute to the immediate cooperation of scientific research and other tourism institutes as well as to the systematic implementation of exchanges of scientific and educational materials.
The Parties shall assist each other in the field of activity and membership of international tourism organisations and shall consistently promote their universality.
For the purpose of developing cooperation in the field of tourism, the Contracting Party shall, on the basis of reciprocity, authorise the establishment of tourist information centres within its territory of the other Contracting Party under the laws of the Contracting Parties and, where appropriate, in the course of commercial representation.
All revenue and expenditure relating to the implementation of this Agreement shall be governed by specific arrangements.
On the basis of this Agreement and in order to implement it, the central authorities of foreign tourism of the two States will negotiate for a period of at least five years an agreement on the planned mutual exchange of tourists.
The competent authorities of the Contracting Parties shall inform each other of matters relating to the implementation of this Agreement and, where necessary, conclude appropriate agreements.
This Agreement shall be concluded for an unlimited period and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on its approval by the competent authorities of the Contracting Parties.
This Agreement shall expire six months after the date of receipt by one of the Contracting Parties of the note of its denunciation.
Done at Moscow, 8 June 1972, in duplicate, each in the Czech and Russian languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
