between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on visa waiver and tourism development
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, led by the desire to create the best possible conditions for both countries' nations to become familiar with the achievements of socialist construction, history, culture, way of life and natural beauty of both countries and to facilitate the development of tourism and the travel of their citizens, have decided to conclude this Agreement:
To negotiate the Agreement, their agents appointed:

1. Citizens of one Contracting Party residing in its national territory or in the territory of another Socialist State, if they have a valid travel document, may, without visas, travel to its territory for temporary stay or transit.
2. Citizens of one Contracting Party resident in a State other than that referred to in paragraph 1 may only pass through the territory of the other Contracting Party without a visa.
Citizens of the Contracting Parties with valid travel documents may cross national borders at all border crossing points for international travel.

2. The competent authorities of the beneficiary State may, where justified, extend the period of stay but no longer than the period of validity of the travel document.
1. If a citizen of one Contracting Party loses his travel document in the territory of the other Contracting Party, he shall notify the competent local authorities which shall issue him a certificate free of charge.
2. The relevant diplomatic mission or consular post shall in this case issue a replacement travel document which shall be accompanied by an exit visa of the Contracting Party in whose territory the travel document has been lost. The visa shall be issued free of charge.
