Slovak National Council
of 29 June 1964
on the Commission for Folk Control and Statistics of the Slovak National Council
Building an advanced socialist society associated with carrying out challenging tasks requires, in line with the expansion of socialist democracy, to consolidate the central management of society and the state and to strengthen its effectiveness by further deepening the direct participation of workers in developing effective control and use of national economic records.
The Slovak National Council therefore decided on the following Act:
Within the framework of a single, centralised and integrated system of popular control bodies, the Commission shall be the authority of the Slovak National Council ("the Commission ') and the regional authority of the Central Commission of Human Control and Statistics.
(1) The Commission carries out the tasks of State control and statistics in Slovakia to the extent determined by the Bureau of the Slovak National Council and by the Central Commission for People's Control and Statistics. He is active in the active and active pursuit of the political and economic objectives set out by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the tasks of the state plan for the development of the national economy in Slovakia.
(2) In carrying out its tasks, the Commission shall follow the guidelines and resolutions of the Slovak National Council, its Bureau and the Central Commission of People's Control and Statistics; it shall also report to those authorities on its activities.
(3) The Commission works with the widest participation of workers and their organisations and makes full use of their Knowledge and Experience.
The Commission shall ensure its tasks in close cooperation with the other committees of the Slovak National Council and the workers' organisations. It coordinates and provides organisational, methodological and professional assistance to the Slovak National Council.
If the resolution or measure of the Commission is not in accordance with the directives and resolutions of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, the laws, regulations and resolutions of the Government, the Slovak National Council and its Bureau or the Central Commission of Human Control and Statistics, the President of the Commission shall suspend their execution and refer the matter to the Bureau of the Slovak National Council without delay.
(1) The Commission shall be composed of the President, who shall be responsible for the Slovak National Council, the Vice-President and the other members elected by the Slovak National Council from among the members of the Slovak National Council and important staff of state, economic and other bodies and organisations.
(2) The members of the Commission shall take the required oath into the hands of the President of the Slovak National Council.
(3) The Vice-President of the Commission does not need to be a Member of the Slovak National Council.
Members of the Commission may be removed from office if they have violated their duties or have lost their trust for other reasons.
The election and withdrawal of the members of the Commission shall be made public by printing or other appropriate means.
The Commission has a powerful apparatus to carry out its tasks, which is part of the single apparatus of the Slovak National Council. The work of the apparatus shall be managed by the Chairman of the Commission, represented by the Vice-President and Deputy Director. The Deputy Chairperson shall be appointed by the Bureau of the Slovak National Council.
(1) The work, tasks and methods of work of the Commission and the organisation of its executive apparatus will be further adapted by the Statute approved by the Bureau of the Slovak National Council.
(2) The Slovak National Council Act on the Rules of Procedure and Conditions of Employment of the Slovak National Council shall apply to the Commission and its apparatus unless otherwise provided for in this Act.
The Act of the Slovak National Council No. 30 / 1963 Coll., on the Commission of People's Control and Statistics at the Slovak National Council is hereby repealed.
This Act shall take effect on the date of approval of the Slovak National Council.
