THE LAW
of 12 November 1965
about Czechoslovak Press Office
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
§ 1
The Czechoslovak Press Office is a press agency of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.
§ 2
Czechoslovak Press Office among other services of the Press Agency
(a) issue a full statement by the central state bodies of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, if they so request;
(b) inform the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic of the opinions and oral and written communications of the central state bodies and their advisory bodies, central state organisations and constitutional officials, if they so request;
(c) inform on the opinions and oral and written communications of the state bodies of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and their advisory bodies, at the request of the competent central government body, and on the opinions and oral and written communications of the authorities of state organisations operating in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, at the request of the central authority of those organisations.
§ 3
The Czechoslovak Press Office can conduct business activities in the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and abroad and is registered for this purpose; may set up trading companies and participate in the business of trading companies.
§ 4
(1) The Czechoslovak Press Office is an organization of national competence and may acquire rights and obligations on its behalf.
(2) For the activities of the Czechoslovak Press Office referred to in Section 2, the General Director is responsible for the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, appointed and withdrawn by the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.
§ 6
(1) The principles of the internal organisation and management of the Czechoslovak Press Office contain the status issued by the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic on a proposal from the Director-General of the Czechoslovak Press Office in agreement with the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Slovak Republic.
(2) The Statute regulates the relations of the Czechoslovak Press Office with the state bodies of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic and defines the mutual competence of the Czechoslovak Press Office, the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Czech Republic and the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Slovak Republic; it also provides for the composition and scope of the College of the Czechoslovak Press Office and its Management Board, which consists of the Director General of the Czechoslovak Press Office, the Director General of the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Czech Republic and the Director General of the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Slovak Republic.
(3) The scope of the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Czech Republic will be regulated by the Act of the Czech National Council. The scope of the Czechoslovak Press Office of the Slovak Republic shall be governed by the Act of the Slovak National Council.
§ 7
Czechoslovak Press Office uses abbreviations "ČSTK" in the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and abroad.
§ 8
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1966.
