amending and supplementing the Act of the Czech National Council No. 33 / 1978 Coll., on Theatre Activities (Theater Act)
The Czech National Council decided on this law:
Act of the Czech National Council No. 33 / 1978 Coll., on theatrical activities (theatrical Act) is amended as follows:
1. In Paragraph 1 (2), the second dot is replaced by a comma at the end of the sentence and the words "especially those whose mission is to bring together authors and performers from the field of theatre art are added."

Establishment, management and cancellation of theatres
(1) The theatre is a socialist organization with a mission to perform theatre activities.
(2) Theatres are set up, managed and repealed by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Socialist Republic, National Committees, Social Organisations and Cultural Funds2a (hereinafter referred to as "Organisations").
(3) National Committees, social organisations and cultural funds establish and abolish theatres with the approval of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Socialist Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Culture).
(4) The Ministry of Culture and National Committees set up theatres as contribution or budget organisations.
(5) The theatre is headed by the director, who is appointed by public auditions and removes the founding organization.
(6) Theater works are performed by the theatre on the basis of a dramaturgical plan and an activity plan approved by the director of the theatre. "
3. Article 7 (2) reads as follows:
"(2) The Statute of the Theatre is issued by the founding organization."
4. In Paragraph 8 (2), comma and the words "in Prague, the National Committee of the Capital City of Prague (the Regional National Committee)" are inserted after the word "Committee."
5. the following paragraph 3 is added to Article 8:
"(3) The Regional National Committee may also delegate other socialist organisations to perform certain tasks of the Regional Agency. '
(6) Article 9 shall be added to the following paragraph 3:
"(3) The Ministry of Culture may also entrust other socialist organisations with certain tasks of the Central Agency."
7. Paragraph 10 (3) shall be deleted.
8. In Paragraph 21 (3), the second sentence is deleted.
9. In the first sentence of Paragraph 21 (4), the words "the body of state administration which controls the theatre 'are replaced by the words" the establishment organisation'.
10. In Section 22, the words "the body of the State administration which controls them 'are replaced by the words" the establishment organisation'.
11. Article 24 (2) reads as follows:
"(2) The supervision of the performance, the organizer of which is a theatre managed by the Ministry of Culture or the National Committee, shall be the responsibility of the State Administration which manages it; that authority may delegate to the regional or local (urban) national committee responsible for the place of the performance to ensure supervision. For other theatres, the supervision of the performance is the responsibility of the local (urban) national committee in whose district the performance takes place."
12. in Paragraph 31, the provisions of (b) and (c) are deleted.
13. in Article 31 (e), the words "Youth and Sports" shall be inserted after the words "Education."
14. in Article 31 (g), the words "public administrations and social organisations" are replaced by the words "public administrations, social organisations and cultural funds."
15. In Paragraph 31, points (d) to (j) shall be renumbered (b) to (h).
16. in Article 32 (2) (a), point 2 shall be deleted; points 3 to 6 shall be renumbered as points 2 to 5.
17. in Paragraph 32 (2) (b), point 2 shall be deleted; points 3 and 4 shall be renumbered as points 2 and 3.
18. In Paragraph 36 (4), the words "granting consent pursuant to § 28 (1) 'are replaced by the words" granting consent pursuant to § 5 (3) and § 28 (1)'.
19. In Paragraph 38 (2), "Youth and Sports" is inserted after "Education."
20. Paragraph 38 (3) reads as follows:
"(3) In an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of the Czech Socialist Republic, the Ministry of Culture sets out the details of public auditions for the admission of theatre artists and directors to work."
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1990.
