DECLARATION
Ministry of Agriculture
of 23 March 1993
setting out the reasons for killing the animal
Ministry of Agriculture pursuant to § 5 of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 246 / 1992 Coll., for the protection of animals against abuse, provides:
The reasons for which an animal may be killed are:
(a) slaughter or killing of livestock (1) in order to benefit from its products;
(b) the weakness of the animal, its incurable disease, exhaustion or old age, if further survival is associated with lasting pain or suffering;
(c) imminent danger to humans by a dangerous animal, 2)
(d) exercise of the right of hunting and fishing in accordance with special regulations, 3)
(e) slaughter or culling of an animal on the basis of prescribed protective and control measures (4) in the event of a disease (5) or other animal diseases (6);
(f) end of experiment in experimental animal, 7)
(g) regulating livestock population, 1) pet animals, 8) experimental animals (7) and wild animals (9)
(h) pest protection. 10)
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
