on the Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Mozambique People's Republic
The Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Mozambique People's Republic was signed in Prague on 26 November 1980. Pursuant to Article 12 of the Agreement, the Agreement entered into force on 25 July 1981.

AGREEMENT
on cultural and scientific cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Mozambique People's Republic
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Mozambique People's Republic,
led by the desire to strengthen mutual contacts and develop cooperation in education, culture, science, art, sport and health,
convinced that this cooperation, based on the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, equality, non-interference in the internal affairs of the two States and mutual benefits, will contribute to the deepening of friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples,
have decided to conclude the following agreement:
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science, art, sport and physical education, information and health.
The Parties shall promote cooperation and exchange of information and experience between the educational, cultural, health, scientific and artistic institutions of their countries, in particular:
- by allowing mutual visits to university professors and teachers from professional and scientific institutions,
- organising exhibitions in their countries,
- organising concerts, theatre performances and other artistic events representing the culture of the people of both countries,
- translation and publication of literary and scientific works,
- exchange of books and other publications in the fields of culture, science and art,
- exchange of information on life in both countries in order to identify the experiences of the people of both countries,
- exchange of experts in the fields of education, culture, health and science,
- the exchange and presentation of films on a commercial and non-commercial basis.
The Parties shall ensure that objective information on the lives and progress achieved by the people of both countries is provided in textbooks and curriculum.
Each Party shall, in accordance with its possibilities, provide scholarships to students and postgraduate students of the other Party for study at its universities or other educational institutions.
The Parties shall examine the conditions for ensuring the equivalence of certificates, diplomas, examinations and degrees obtained from educational establishments in both countries. These conditions shall be governed by a specific agreement.
The Parties will allow access to historical archives, libraries, museums and galleries in accordance with the applicable regulations of their countries.
Each Party shall facilitate the participation of delegations of the other Party in congresses, festivals and other international events organised in its territory.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between information agencies and radio and television organisations of their countries.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of sport and between youth organisations in both countries.
Each Contracting Party shall, in accordance with the applicable national provisions, establish the necessary conditions for nationals of the other Contracting Party, seconded under this Agreement.
National citizens of the sending State shall comply with the national provisions of the receiving State.
In order to implement this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall conclude implementing programmes for a period of two or three years containing agreed actions and financial conditions.
This Agreement shall be subject to the approval of both Parties in accordance with the laws and regulations of each State and shall enter into force on the date of the act of exchange of instruments of approval.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years and shall be extended silently for a further period of five years unless one Party notifies the other in writing at least six months before the expiry of any current period of validity of its wish to terminate it.
