concerning the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Arab Republic of Libya
On 15 October 1975, the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Arab Republic of Libya was signed in Tripoli.
The Agreement entered into force pursuant to Article 9 thereof on 22 July 1976.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Arab Republic of Libya
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Libyan Arab Republic,
led by the desire to develop mutual cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, education, science, health and sport,
convinced that such cooperation will contribute to strengthening mutual good relations and strengthening friendly ties between the people of both countries,
they have agreed as follows:
Both sides will make every effort to develop mutual cooperation and exchange information, knowledge and experience in the fields of culture, education, science, health, art and sport.
In order to achieve this objective, it shall:
(a) exchange of scientists, professors, experts, researchers, students and trainees;
(b) the exchange of cultural delegations, artistic files, folklore groups;
(c) cultural, scientific and artistic exhibitions in both countries;
(d) the exchange of books, publications and scientific and cultural materials;
(e) the exchange of sports groups and youth delegations.
Each Party shall, as far as possible, provide the other Party with scholarships for studies and short-term traineeships at universities, art universities, scientific research institutes and training centres.
The Parties shall endeavour to reach an agreement on the equivalence of certificates, diplomas and scientific degrees provided by schools, universities and institutes in both countries.
Both sides will do their utmost to ensure correct objective information on the culture, history and geography of the other country in their curriculum and textbooks.
Both sides will allow scientists and researchers to visit libraries, museums, historical objects and archives within the laws and regulations in force in both countries. They will also exchange information on discoveries and historical documents concerning the other country.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between their radio, television, film and press organisations and their representatives. To this end, they will exchange programmes, information and other materials contributing to the mutual recognition of the people of both countries.
Both sides will support translation and extradition (each in their own country) of the most important works of the other party in the field of literature, science, art and culture.
In order to implement this Agreement, both Parties shall negotiate implementing programmes containing practical steps to comply with the provisions of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification drawn up in accordance with the procedure in force in both countries.
The Agreement shall be valid for a period of five years from the date of its entry into force. It shall be automatically renewed for the same period if either Party does not notify the other Party of its wish to modify or revoke the contract six months before its expiry.
