on the issue of banknotes of CZK 1000, on the expiry of banknotes of CZK 1000 and their replacement
Czech National Bank pursuant to § 22 (a) and (d) of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, states:
§ 1
On 12 May 1993, banknotes of CZK 1000 model 1993 (hereinafter referred to as "the banknote") shall be issued for circulation.
§ 2
(1) The banknote is 74 mm wide and 158 mm long. The tolerance allowed in its width and length is ± 1,5 mm. The banknote is printed on a naturally coloured paper with a local tiered watermark and a protective window strip.
(2) The tiered watermark is placed on the 42 mm wide unprinted edge of the banknote (hereinafter referred to as "coupon") and consists of a portrait of František Palacký.
(3) The 1,4 mm width protective window strip is embedded in paper in a perpendicular direction to the long side of the banknote throughout its width, looking from the front side at approximately half the length of the banknote. On the front side of the banknote, there is always 5 mm on the surface of the paper of a silver stripe of 5 mm in length on which the negative microtext "1000 CZK" is readable from the bottom up.
(4) The banknote shall bear a protective serial number in the form of the letter "C" in which the letter "S" is inserted. Its upper part printed in reddish colour is visible on the front side of the banknote at the top right of the coupon, the lower part on the reverse side of the banknote at the top right. The entire batch tag is visible from both sides of the banknote in the view against the light. When viewed from the reverse side of the banknote, the protective contour mark is sideways inverted.
§ 3
(1) There is a portrait of František Palacký in the right part of the print pattern. It is printed by printing from depth in the colour blue-violet, which in the right part of the portrait passes into the colour red-violet. The name near the portrait "FRANTIŠEK PALACKÝ" is placed in two rows on the right of the portrait arm. It is also printed by printing from the depth of the red-violet colour. There is an ornamental surface in the portrait arm for a hidden pattern which, at a certain angle of light impact, creates a dark or light number "1000." From the portrait on the right, there is a denser band of red-filed colour in parallel with the longer sides of the banknote up to 5 mm wide unprinted edge. The number "1000" is negative on the belt from top to bottom. The belt and number are printed by printing from the surface. On both sides of the belt, an ornamental pattern resembling a people's Moravian embroidery is printed on the right unprinted edge of the banknote in red and blue-grey printing. In the top right corner of the banknote there is a tactile mark for blind and weak-sighted. The mark consists of a horizontal strip with dimensions of 1 x 8 mm. The tactile mark is printed from depth in the colour blue-violet. At the bottom edge of the banknote on the left is printed in small print from depth in the color of the blue-purple name of the author of the draft banknote "O. KULHÁNEK INV.," right in the color of the blue-violet transpose into the color of the red-violet name of the author of the engraving transcription of the draft banknote "V. FAJT SC."
(2) In the left part of the print pattern there is a text in two rows indicating the denomination of the banknote "TISÍC KORUNE ČESKÝ," below which the name of the Emission Bank "CZECH NATIONAL BANK" is given in two rows. The signature of the Governor of the Czech National Bank is facsimile under this name. The designation of the representative of the Emission Bank by the word "GUVERNER 'shall be placed under the facsimile of its signature. This year's issue of the" 1993 "banknote is placed to the left of the governor's facsimile signature. All of the above texts are printed by printing from the depth in the colour blue-violet. Against the background of the texts, as a symbol of the relationship of Palacký to the history of the nation, is depicted the silhouette of a tree with roots, through which the trunk of paper is loosely laid, symbolizing the scientific and literary activity of Palacký. The background is printed by printing from the area in red-violet colour in combination with ochre and blue-grey colour, with a small raster in the underprint.
(3) The upper part of the coupon is printed by printing from the depth of the large significant number "1000" indicating the denomination of the banknote. The number color is red-violet at the top and passes fluently into blue-violet.
§ 4
(1) On the back of the banknote is a symbol of Moravia and Silesia depicted an eagle with unfolded wings. The silhouette of the Kromeriz castle is intersected with her body and left wing. The predominant colour of the display is blue-violet, combined with red-violet, blue-grey and ochre. The banknote underprint is made up of a small raster. In parallel with the longer sides of the banknote, a darker 21 mm width band is laid approximately half the width of the banknote. In the left part of the banknote the belt leads from the wing of the eagle which partly overlaps to the unprinted edge of the banknote. Its colour passes from blue violet to red violet. In the right part of the banknote, the belt leads through the wing of the eagle to the coupon. Its colour also passes from blue-violet to red-violet, which is the most saturated in coupon. The state emblem of the Czech Republic is located in the right part of this lane. Under the national emblem, an ornamental pattern resembling a people's Moravian embroidery is placed as an element connecting both sides of the banknote. The color of the pattern passes from blue violet to red violet. In the lower left corner of the print pattern it is printed in the color blue-violet number "1000," the area of its digits is filled with a small raster. In parallel to the bottom side of the banknote, the inscription "FAILURE BANKNOTES ARE TREATED BY LAW" is placed in the middle. The color of the inscription is blue-violet. At the lower edge of the banknote, the inscriptions "© CZECH NATIONAL BANK" (left), "STATE PRESCRIBILITY CENIN, PRAHA" (middle) and the name of the author of the engraving transcription of the banknote "V. FAJT SC." (right) are printed in small letters in the colour of blue and red-violet. All displayed images and texts are printed by printing from the surface.
(2) The denomination of the series of banknotes in one capital letter of the alphabet and the two-digit number and the six-digit serial number of the banknote shall be printed in a horizontal direction lower right under the national emblem of the Czech Republic and in a vertical direction up in half the shorter side of the banknote at the unprinted edge on the left. Both series descriptions and banknote serial numbers are printed from a height in black. The numbers of the horizontally situated serial number of the banknote are increased from left to right.
(3) The upper part of the coupon is printed by printing from the surface of the large significant number "1000" indicating the denomination of the banknote. The number color is red-violet at the top and passes fluently into blue-violet. The area of digits is filled with a small grid.
§ 5
(1) The validity of banknotes of 1000 Kčs1), equipped with colkem2, expires on 31 August 1993.
(2) The banknotes referred to in paragraph 1 shall be exchanged between 1 September 1993 and 31 May 1994 by the Czech National Bank and the banks. 3)
§ 6
This Decree shall take effect on 1 May 1993.
