Czechoslovak State Banks
of 28 February 1992
on the issue of commemorative silver 500 crowns for the 400th anniversary of the birth of Jan Amos Komenský
According to § 27 (a) of Act No. 22 / 1992 Coll., on the State Bank of Czechoslovak:
(1) On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the birth of Jan Amos Komenský, commemorative silver five hundred crowns (hereinafter referred to as "five hundred crowns") are issued.
(2) Five hundred crowns are rolled from an alloy containing 900 parts of silver and 100 parts of copper. The weight of CZK 500 is 24 g. In the case of stamping, a tolerance up and down of 10 / 1000 and a silver content of 5 / 1000 is permitted. The diameter of five hundred crowns is 40 mm, the embossed inscription "OMNES OMNIA OMNINO" is on their edge.
(1) On the face of the five hundred crown is the state emblem of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. The name of the State "CZECH AND SLOVAK FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC" is in an unclosed copy at the edge of the coin. Above the national emblem is the year "1992," under the national emblem is the designation of the value "500 CZK."
(2) On the back of the five hundred crown is the character J. A. Komensky with a book in his right hand. The left hand of J. A. Komenski shows a vertically divided fragment of the period map forming a background that symbolically depicts an open gate into the world. At the left edge of the coin are the copies "1592-1670," at the right edge of the coin is the name "J. A. KOMENSKÝ" in the copy. The author of the design is the academic sculptor Michal Vitanovský. The initials of his name "M" and the surname "V" are placed above them to the left of the figure below the bottom edge of the map fragment.
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
