Government Regulation
of 11 December 1951
on the reorganisation of state conservation.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic hereby orders pursuant to Paragraph 1 (1) of Act No. 145 / 1949 Coll., on Changes in the Organisation of Public Administration and the jurisdiction of its bodies:
Public administration in the field of state conservation shall be carried out by regional national committees; if it is national, the Ministry of Education, Science and Art. The Ministry of Education, Science and Art shall define the detailed scope of the agreement with the Ministry of Interior.
(1) The National Cultural Commission, established by Act No. 137 / 1946 Coll., is converted into Advisory Councils of the Minister of Education, Science and Arts; the members are appointed and withdrawn by the Government (Board of Authors).
(2) The State Monument Office in Prague and its Department in Brno are converted into the State Monument Institute; The Memorial Institute, based in Bratislava, is transformed into the Slovak Monument Institute. The scope of these new institutes is limited to the tasks set out in Section 4.
(3) The Ministry of Education, Science and Art provides details in an agreement with the Ministry of Interior and Information and Information.
The organisation of national cultural commissions, as well as details of their tasks, shall lay down the organisational statute to be issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Art.
The task of the Monument Institutions is to provide professional assistance in the field of state conservation, especially in rescue work and promotion of monuments, as well as scientific evaluation of cultural monuments and the study and development of conservation methods. Details shall be provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Art.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 1952; they shall be carried out by the Minister for Education, Science and Art in agreement with the Minister for the Interior and other participating members of the Government.
