DECLARATION
Czech National Banks
of 26 March 1993
on the issue of coins of 20 CZK model 1993, on the expiry of banknotes of 20 CZK and 50 CZK respectively
Czech National Bank pursuant to § 22 (a) and (d) of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, states:
On 12 May 1993, coins of CZK 20 model 1993 (hereinafter referred to as "20 krona") are issued for circulation.
(1) The 20 krona is rolled from a steel core which is coated on both sides with a sheet of alloy containing 750 parts of copper and 250 parts of zinc. The alloy and 20 crown edges are galvanically plated with alloy containing 700 copper parts and 300 zinc parts. The weight of 20 crowns is 8,43 g, its diameter is 26 mm and 2.55 mm. The twenty crown is the shape of a regular thirteen-edge, its edges rounded and smooth.
(2) A tolerance of 0,25 g, 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,05 mm in force shall be allowed for 20 kroner stamping. In the composition of metal during plating, a tolerance of up and down is permitted, and in the composition of metal during galvanic plating, a tolerance of up and down is allowed 10%.
(1) The Czech lion is on the face of the twenty crown as a symbol of Czech statehood. In the copy the name of the State "CZECH REPUBLIC" and at the lower edge of the coin is the year of the stamping, which is separated from the name of the State by dots. Above the age of the stamping, a mark of the mint is placed between the back legs of the lion, which drove 20 crowns.
(2) On the back of the twenty crown is the figure of St. Wenceslas on a horse with a flag in his right hand. On the sides of this picture is the inscription "SAINT LIVE, DO NOT WEAR OUR FUTURE" placed on the horizontal belt in the background. The first three words of the inscription are to the left of the character St. Wenceslas, the remaining words to the right of this character. The denomination of the coin by the number "20" and the abbreviation "CZK" is in two rows above the left part of the inscription. The author of the 20 crown design is academic sculptor Vladimir Oppl, the initials of his name "VO" are placed at the bottom edge of the coin under the raised right front foot of the horse.
(1) On 31 July 1993, banknotes after 20 Kčs1 and after 50 Kč.2 are terminated)
(2) The banknotes referred to in paragraph 1 shall be exchanged between 1 August and 30 November 1993 by the Czech National Bank and the banks. 3)
This Decree shall take effect on 1 May 1993.
