DECLARATION
Federal Ministry of Finance
of 12 September 1973
on the issue of banknotes of 500 CZK
The Federal Ministry of Finance pursuant to Article 3 (2) of Act No. 41 / 1953 Coll. announces:
§ 1
On 1 November 1973, the National Bank of Czechoslovakia banknotes of 500 CZK model 1973 (shape I) shall be issued.
§ 2
(1) 500 Kčs banknote of model 1973 (shape I) is 67 mm wide and 152 mm long and is printed on yellowish paper with continuous dark-coloured watermark with protective blue and red fibres stored in paper.
(2) The watermark creates horizontal rows of alternating leaves and five-pointed stars across the entire surface of the paper.
(3) On the face of the banknote, the main printing is made by copper printing in brown with shade into purple. The area of the cheek is divided into three different fields by colour spacing; by finishing the main printing and multiprinting approx. 4 mm at the edge of the banknote, a hint of framing is created in the left and middle fields. The brightest field on the right is partially printed with copper only. In the middle of the left field there is an irregular dark-haired guilloche rose above which is a single-colour state emblem. From the center of the rose, they run in the irritating (rainbow) execution of a diverse curve, symbolizing the flames of a burning uprising. The top left is a large digit "500," next to it right with the exception of the year are on the same vertical texts
"BANKNOCK LABEL BANK
CZECH REPUBLIC
_
CZECH LOCAL ';
"1973"
and criminal threat "FALŠOVANIA SA TRESCE SUBJECT AND LAW."
The central field is dominated by two figures of soldiers of the Slovak National Uprising against the background of the Central Slovak landscape with the ruin of the Strečna Castle. On the bottom right is the text "SNP 1944." In the right narrowest field below is located the figure "500," above it a group of folk fighters and landscape, continuing from the middle field.
(4) The name of the author of the design "J. LUKAVSKÝ DEL." (designed) and the name of the engraver "L. JIRKA SC." (ryl) are printed in small letters in a hint of framed bottom. In the middle is the company name of the printer "PRAHA PRAHA, PRAHA."
(5) On the reverse, the main printing is made by copper printing in brown with shade into purple. The area is also divided into three identical fields with a hint of framing. In the left field at the top left there is a distinctive figure "500," another larger and brighter coloured figure "500" is in the middle of the field, below it at the bottom right is shown bronze decoration from the equestrian harness (faler) of Slavic-avar origin (archaeological find near Devin), documenting the ancient Slavic settlement. From the center of the left field comes a variety of irritating curves, similar to flames. The dominance of the reverse side is the depiction of the castle Děvina, which reminds of the first connection of Czechs and Slovaks in the State of Velkomoravský. The depiction of the castle begins in the left field and ends in the narrowest field on the right with the figure "500" below. Under the painting of the castle is the inscription "DEVIN." A note on the value coverage of the banknotes "BANKS OF THE SHORT GOLD AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OF THE BODIES OF CZECH BOOK" is placed on one line above the hint of lower framing.
(6) The name of the author of the design "J. LUKAVSKÝ DEL." and the name of the engraver "M. ONDRÁČEK SC." are printed in small letters in a hint of framed bottom.
(7) The denomination of the series of banknotes in one capital letter of the alphabet and the two-digit number shall be placed at the top of the right side of the reverse, the six-digit serial number of the banknote being at the same level mainly in the narrowest field on the right. The series and serial number shall be printed in red.
§ 3
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
