Decree of the Ministers for Health and Justice
of 20 April 1948
on the establishment of the State Veterinary Investigation Institute in Opava.
The Ministers of Health and Justice declare, pursuant to Section 3, paragraph 4 of the Decree of 13 October 1897, No 240 of the establishment of state institutes for the examination of foodstuffs and articles, the needs of the kind referred to in the Law of 16 January 1896, No 89 of 1897:
The State Veterinary Investigation Institute, established pursuant to the Law of 16 January 1896, No 89 September of 1897, on trade in foodstuffs and certain items of need, which worked from 1 June 1945 to 14 December 1947 in Šumperk (hereinafter referred to as the Institute), began to operate on 15 December 1947 in Opava.
The official district of the Institute is the statutory city of Opava and administrative districts: Bílovák, Bruntál, Hlučín, Krnov and Opava-rural.
The Institute shall be responsible for the tasks of investigating food of animal origin referred to in Regulation No 240 / 1897, except for the chemical investigation of foodstuffs.
