concerning the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Yemen
On 30 May 1980, the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemen Arab Republic was signed in Prague. Pursuant to Article 10 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on the date of signature.
The Slovak version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time. *)

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemeni Arab Republic
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Yemeni Arab Republic,
led by the desire to facilitate and develop cooperation and exchanges in the fields of culture, education, science and health between the two countries,
convinced that such cooperation will help to strengthen good relations,
decide to conclude a cultural cooperation agreement and agree to this end as follows:
The Parties shall promote the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience between the scientific, cultural, educational, medical and other institutions of both countries and, to this end, allow mutual visits to university professors, scientists, teachers of secondary and vocational schools and staff of other institutions.
Each Contracting Party shall grant scholarships and other benefits to nationals of the other Contracting Party in accordance with its possibilities and shall allow them to study at universities, art schools, technical schools and other institutions.
In particular, the Parties will extend cultural contacts between the two countries to organise musical and artistic performances, lectures, artistic, archaeological and scientific exhibitions, as well as mutual visits to cultural delegations, artists and cultural workers.
The Parties shall promote cooperation and exchanges in physical education, sport and sport, including exchanges of sports delegations.
The Parties shall examine the possibility of mutual recognition of diplomas and scientific degrees and, if deemed necessary, shall conclude a specific agreement for this purpose.
The Parties shall facilitate the exchange of books, cultural, scientific, artistic magazines and films between each other and shall promote the organisation of film festivals and shows.
Each Party shall make it possible to publish translations of significant scientific, cultural and artistic literary works by authors of the other Party.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the area of press, radio and television.
In order to implement this Agreement, the Contracting Parties will always conclude cultural cooperation programmes for a certain period of time, which will also include the financial terms of the planned actions and exchanges.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years and shall be extended for a further period of five years each time unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing six months before the expiry of the current five-year period.
In Prague on 30 May 1980, in two copies, each in Slovak, Arabic and English, the English language will be decisive in the event of a conflict of interpretation.
