GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 20 February 2002
on the payment of one-off financial compensation to mitigate certain injustices caused by the Communist regime to persons assigned to military labour camps
The Government orders pursuant to § 8 of Act No. 198 / 1993 Coll., on the illegality and resistance of the Communist regime:
(1) Persons included in the road banners of the bridegroom army, auxiliary technical banners and military bays (hereinafter referred to as "military forced labour camps") referred to in Article 18 (1) of Act No. 87 / 1991 Coll., on extrajudicial rehabilitation, as amended by Act No. 267 / 1992 Coll. and Act No. 78 / 1998 Coll., hereinafter referred to as "Authorised Person", are entitled to a one-off financial compensation to mitigate some of the injustices caused by their communist health regime (hereinafter referred to as "one-off compensation") if the period spent in military forced labour camps was at least 12 months.
(2) A one-off refund is set at CZK 625 for each month of time spent in the military camps of forced labour.
(1) A one-off refund is granted by the Ministry of Defence by a decision given following a written request from the authorised person, who shall attach to the application documents certifying his entitlement. A single refund application may be lodged by 31 March 2003 at the latest.
(2) A single refund is payable within 15 days of the date of the decision.
The right to apply for a lump sum does not go to the heirs of the beneficiaries.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
