DECLARATION
Ministry of Transport
of 2 July 1968
on the crossing of infrastructure with tracks at track level
In agreement with the participating central authorities, the Ministry of Transport provides in accordance with § 29 of Act No. 51 / 1964 Coll., on Railways:
(1) The crossing of the infrastructure with tracks at track level ("crossings") must be marked or secured.
(2) Crossing without a barrier is marked with the warning cross. *) Crosses with barriers are not marked like this.
(3) If there is a crossing without a barrier with a slight rail operation, the railway administration may allow the crossing not to be marked with an alert cross. Such crossing at the time of rail operation must be guarded by a railway worker; the detailed conditions shall be laid down by the railway authority. The infrastructure manager shall indicate the crossing mark "tug crossing '* *) and the train or railway vehicle shall reduce the speed before it.
(1) The crossing shall be secured by a crossing-over safety device according to the relevant technical standard * *) if the traffic intensity on the crossing and the visual conditions so require.
(2) The crossing safety device shall warn the road user in good time that a train or runway vehicle is approaching the crossing,
(a) two red alternating lights and an intermittent sound of a horn or bell,
(b) by tilting of the bars and, if the barriers are operated remotely, by a warning (light) given before the barrier is folded; or
(c) a combination of a lighting (audible) warning device and a barrier.
(3) After 31 December 1971, the crossing-over signalling equipment operated by the train shall also notify the road users of the passing white light that a train or railway vehicle is not approaching the crossing.
(1) The crossing marking, the crossing security, the change of crossing security, the type of crossing protection, the way in which it is operated, the timelimit and the duration of the warning are decided by the railway administration; †) The parties to the proceedings are also the district national committee, the infrastructure manager and the Public Security Authority.
(2) The railway administrative authority shall not decide on the marking of crossings within the railway undertaking's establishment where vehicles not belonging to the establishment are not allowed to enter and exit railway stations intended for rail, postal or passenger boarding and passenger crossing. These crossings indicate the railway undertaking according to local needs and conditions.
The Regulations of the Ministry of Transport on level crossings, crossings and their security No 17 350 / 56, amount 121 of the 1956 Official Journal, are hereby repealed.
This Decree shall take effect on 1 August 1968.
