on the uniform management of compulsory testing and evaluation of products
The Bureau of the National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has decided pursuant to Article 60 (2) of the Constitution on the following legal measure:
(1) The central management of the mandatory testing and evaluation of products is the responsibility of the Standardisation and Measurement Office.
(2) When managing mandatory testing and evaluation of products, the Standardisation and Measurement Office shall in particular:
(a) identify, on its own initiative or on a proposal from the central authorities, products which are subject to compulsory testing and evaluation;
(b) authorise test organisations to carry out compulsory testing and evaluation;
(c) lay down the principles for compulsory testing, evaluation and quality control of products;
(d) manage the technical assistance of test organisations to production organisations.
The detailed definition of the competence of the Standardisation and Measurement Authority and of other central authorities in the compulsory testing and evaluation of products shall be determined by the Government.
Authorisations for compulsory testing and evaluation may be issued only under this legal measure; mandates issued pursuant to § 3 of Act No. 61 / 1951 Coll., which abolishes the privileges of civil engineers and of the Chamber of Engineers, in the field covered by this statutory measure shall cease to be valid.
This legal measure shall take effect on 1 November 1965.
