DECLARATION
of 11 March 2008
on the issue of banknotes of CZK 1 000 model 2008
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll.:
On 1 April 2008, banknotes of CZK 1 000 model 2008 (hereinafter the "2008 model banknote") shall be issued for circulation. Banknotes of model 2008 differ from banknotes of CZK 1,000 of model 19931 (hereinafter referred to as "banknote of model 1993") and from banknotes of CZK 1,000 of model 19962) (hereinafter referred to as "banknote of model 1996") by watermark, stripe, shape and colour of the iridiscent stripe, parts of the underprint, number of issue of the banknote and facsimile signature of the representative of the emission bank.
(1) The model 2008 banknote has the same dimensions including tolerance as the model 1993 banknote and model 1996 banknote. In the 42 mm wide unprinted edge of the banknote (hereinafter referred to as the "coupon"), in addition to the tiered watermark with a portrait of František Palacký, the white watermark indicates "1000" in the centre of the banknote, which is oriented parallel to the shorter sides of the banknote. Above it is placed an ornament in the form of a lime leaf.
(2) The protective window strip in the paper at the 2008 banknote is 3 mm wide and its metallic colour varies from green to brown, depending on the angle of the falling light. On the protection strip there is a readable negative microtext "ČNB 1000 CZK" in the direction from the bottom up.
(3) Banknote paper at the banknote model 2008 is equipped with a two-colour iridiscent stripe located on the front right of the portrait of František Palacký. At a certain angle of light, the left part of the stripe obtains gold colour, the irregular right part of the stripe is purple and contains a negative "1000 'marking. In the middle of the iridiscent lane, the golden and purple curves are alternated.
(1) The number of banknotes on the front page of the banknote is printed on the 2008 model banknote by printing on the surface in a dark grey colour. It shall bear the number "2008 'and shall be placed on the left of the signature of the Governor of the Emission Bank. The facsimile signature of the Governor of the Emission Bank is printed in a dark grey colour by printing from the area above the word" GUVERNER "under the name of the Emission Bank.
(2) On both the front and reverse sides of the 2008 banknote, yellow circles are printed from the surface, forming part of the underprint, which are particularly visible on the coupon.
This Decree shall take effect on 1 April 2008.
