on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the further development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation
On 22 January 1975, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the further development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation was signed in Bonn, which, in accordance with Article 9, entered into force on the date of signature, i.e. 22 January 1975.
The Czech text of the Agreement shall be published simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the further development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation

- wishing to deepen economic, industrial and technical cooperation in accordance with the Treaty on Mutual Relations between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany of 11 December 1973,
- and recognising that it is appropriate to ensure and extend this cooperation through long-term arrangements,
agree as follows:
The Parties shall endeavour to extend and deepen economic, industrial and technical cooperation between their respective undertakings, organisations and institutions on the basis of mutual benefit. They shall support and assist this cooperation as far as possible.
The Parties shall establish, through the Joint Commission referred to in Article 6, areas where the extension of cooperation is desirable in the long term, in particular in the sectors of industry, agriculture, the food sector and in the areas of construction, transport and communications. They shall take into account, in particular, the mutual needs and sources of raw materials, energy, technology, equipment and consumer goods.
Long-term cooperation shall include in particular:
- the joint establishment, construction and modernisation of industrial facilities and plants with a view to improving the use of existing and the acquisition of new capacities, as well as the addition of production programmes,
- joint production and sales of semi-finished products and finished products, as well as division of production and sales,
- production and supply of raw materials and energy,
- mutual exchange of patents, licences, know-how and technical information, use and improvement of new technical procedures, as well as mutual training and exchange of experts and trainees,
- exchange of experience and mutual arrangements in the field of standardisation, metrology and material testing.
The conditions for individual economic, industrial and technical cooperation projects shall be agreed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations between the undertakings, organisations and institutions involved.
The Parties shall promote the cooperation of their respective undertakings, organisations and institutions in third countries.
In order to achieve the objectives of this Agreement, the Parties shall establish a Joint Commission composed of representatives of both governments. Representatives of economic circles may participate in the work of the Commission. The Commission shall meet at least once a year alternately in one of the two countries.
The tasks of the Board shall include:
(a) having regard to the overall bilateral economic relations to address all economic, industrial and technical cooperation issues between the two countries;
(b) exchange views regularly on further developments in economic, industrial and technical cooperation and identify new possibilities for cooperation and ideas for certain areas in both countries and third markets;
(c) discuss other issues arising from the implementation of this Agreement.
The Commission may set up working groups to which certain tasks from the economic, industrial and technical cooperation sectors will be delegated.
In accordance with the procedures laid down, the four-party agreement of 3 September 1971 extends to Berlin (Western).
This Agreement shall not affect the bilateral and multilateral agreements and arrangements previously concluded by the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany.
In this context, the Contracting Parties shall consult, if necessary, on a proposal from one of the Contracting Parties, but such consultations shall not in doubt indicate the essential objectives of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature. Each Contracting Party may be denounced in writing by diplomatic channels within a six-month period.
The provisions of the Agreement will also apply in the event of its expiry to previously concluded and unimplemented cooperative agreements.
Done at Bonn on 22 January 1975 in duplicate, each in Czech and German language, the two texts being equally authentic.
