THE LAW
of 11 December 2024
amending Act No. 119 / 2002 Coll., on firearms and ammunition (Law on Weapons), as amended
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:

1. In Paragraph 39, the following paragraph 6 is added:
"(6) The holder of an arms licence, which is an arms and ammunition entrepreneur, shall notify the police of the transfer of a weapon or ammunition or of a legal act aimed at such transfer which he reasonably considers suspicious. ';
2. Paragraph 57 (2) reads:
"(2) The competent police department may decide to provide a weapon of category A, A-I, B, C, C, C-I or D, ammunition, black hunting powder, powder free of charge, matches, weapons licence, weapons licence, arms licence, arms passport for permanent export, permanent import or transit of arms or ammunition, export authorisation under the law on the control of trade in products whose possession is restricted in the Czech Republic for security reasons, European arms passport, permit for transport or notification of the transport of weapons and ammunition pursuant to § 50 or 50a;
(a) which have been detained under Paragraph 56 and the case is to be brought under this or special law; if, within 1 month of their detention, the proceedings under this Law are not initiated or the case is not referred to the authority authorised to conduct proceedings under a special law, the competent police department shall proceed in accordance with paragraph 8; or
(b) where the opinion or information of a public authority shows that the person handling it poses a serious risk to internal order or security. "
3. Paragraph 76d (7) reads:
"(7) The holder of an arms licence shall commit an offence by not making a notification pursuant to Paragraph 39 (6). ';
4. in Article 76d (10) (a), "paragraph 7 (a), (b), (c), (f) or (g)" shall be replaced by "or."
5. in Article 76d (10) (b), "paragraphs 3, 4, 5 or 6, 7 (d), (e) or (h)" shall be replaced by "or paragraphs 3 to 7."
Efficacy
(1) This Act shall take effect on the 15th day following its publication.
(2) This Act shall expire on 31 December 2025.
