THE FOLLOWING TREATY WAS AGREED WITH THE ADDITIONAL PROTOCOL:
Contract
on friendship and mutual assistance between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Republic of Poland
THE PRESIDENT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC, and
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND,
in order to ensure the peaceful development of these two Slavic countries, which, directly neighbouring Germany, have been the subject of German aggression throughout their history, in which their very existence has been threatened more than once,
drawing conclusions from the experiences of the last war that put both nations at risk,
Aware of the vital interest both countries have in common defence in the event of Germany renewing its offensive policy against their freedom, independence and territorial integrity,
Believing that a common defence against such a danger is in the interest of maintaining universal peace and international security, which is the highest objective of the organisation of the United Nations to which both countries belong,
Recognising that friendship and close cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Republic of Poland coincide with the most vital interests of both countries and contribute to their development to cultural and economic development,
They agreed to conclude a treaty for friendship and mutual assistance to this end and appointed their agents:

who, having exchanged their powers of attorney and found them in good and proper form, agreed on the following provisions:
The High Contracting Parties undertake to build their relations on the basis of a lasting friendship and to develop and ensure economic and cultural cooperation.
The High Contracting Parties undertake to jointly take all measures in their power to prevent any new threat of attack from being committed by Germany or any other State which would directly or in any other way associate with Germany.
To this end, the High Contracting Parties shall participate in the most sincere synergy of all international actions aimed at maintaining international peace and security and shall fully contribute to making this objective an act.
In implementing this Treaty, the High Contracting Parties shall respect their obligations as members of the United Nations Organisation.
If one of the High Contracting Parties were involved in hostility with Germany, which would restore its offensive policy, or with any other State which would join Germany in that policy, the other High Contracting Party would immediately provide military assistance and any other support by any means at its disposal.
The High Contracting Parties undertake not to negotiate any alliances and not to participate in any coalition against the other High Contracting Party.
This Treaty shall be concluded for a period of 20 years after its entry into force. If no High Contracting Party denies the contract 12 months before the expiry of the said period of 20 years, it shall remain in force for a period of five years and so on until one of the High Contracting Parties has terminated it 12 months before the expiry of the running five-year period.
This Treaty, whose Additional Protocol is considered to be an integral part of it, will be ratified as soon as possible and the exchange of ratification will take place in Prague as soon as possible.
The Treaty will become effective as soon as it is signed.
This Treaty is drawn up in the Czech and Polish languages and both texts are equally authentic.
On the conscience of the appointed agents, they signed this treaty and attached their seals to it.

to the Treaty on Friendship and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the Republic of Poland
HIGH CONTRACTING PARTIES
convinced that a lasting friendship requires dealing with all the issues existing between the two countries are in agreement,
that, by mutual agreement, it will resolve, no later than two years after the date of signature of the Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Assistance, all territorial issues which are now being raised between the two countries;
that, bearing in mind the need to accelerate the economic and cultural recovery of both countries as far as possible, they will proceed within the shortest possible time to negotiate agreements serving this objective;
that it will provide the Czechs and Slovaks in Poland and vice versa to Poles in Czechoslovakia within the framework of legality (the rule of law) and on the basis of reciprocity the possibility of national, political, cultural and economic development (schools, associations, cooperatives based on the unity of cooperative organisation in Czechoslovakia and Poland, respectively).

CONSIDERING THAT THE CONSTITUTION OF NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS REPUBLIC OF FREEDOM AND THE ACCIDENT OF THE CONTRACTING CONTRACT HAS BEEN APPROVED, ACCEPTED, CONSOLIDATED AND INCREASED, AND THE MAINTENANCE OF THE ISSUE OF THIS DESIGNATORY ARRANGEMENT OF OUR HANDS IS RELATED, REPEATED AND REPEALED, AND RELATED BY THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY OF OUR RELAW
IN THE WORLD, WE MADE THIS LIST TO THE CHALLENGE, AND TO IT, THE REPUBLIC OF CZECH ENTERTAINMENT ADMITTED.

It is announced that the instruments of ratification were exchanged in Prague on 4 July 1947. The contract became effective under Article 5 on 10 March 1947.
