on a long-term programme for the development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark
On 16 October 1984, the long-term programme for the development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark was signed in Copenhagen. The long-term programme has entered into force on the basis of its article In paragraph 1, 5 November 1985.
The Czech translation of the long-term program is announced simultaneously.

development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Kingdom of Denmark
- wishing to further develop and strengthen economic relations and promote cooperation in all areas of economic life, in particular cooperation in industry, agriculture and trade, in order to ensure the dynamic development of economic cooperation on a long and balanced basis,
- having regard to the objectives set out in the Agreement on Economic, Industrial and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark, concluded on 9 November 1970,
- with reference to the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe signed in Helsinki on 1 August 1975 and the Final Document of the Madrid Meeting of Participating States of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe,
- with full recognition of its important international commitments of both parties, in mutual trade
have decided to conclude the following long-term programme for the development of economic, industrial and technical cooperation and are convinced that the implementation of this plan will help achieve a higher level of mutual economic cooperation.
COOPERATION PRINCIPLES
1. As far as possible, both parties will promote favourable conditions for expanding economic cooperation on a long-term and balanced basis in order to significantly increase trade between the two countries. In order to achieve this objective, both sides will seek to make more effective use of their economic potential, modern technology, technology and scientific and technological knowledge to the benefit of both countries.
2. In order to achieve the effective implementation of this Long-term Programme, both parties will, as far as possible, endeavour to create the necessary conditions for intensive cooperation between the participating enterprises, companies and organisations in both countries. They will also support activities aimed at expanding knowledge of mutual economic conditions and possibilities, in particular participation in trade fairs and the organisation of specialised exhibitions, specialised symposia, technical days and similar events.
FORMS OF COOPERATION
1. The Parties shall promote joint action in the field of goods production and cooperation, both bilaterally and in third markets, with a view to achieving the dynamic development of their trade and economic cooperation.
To this end, both Parties shall, as far as possible, support all appropriate forms of cooperation with particular emphasis on the following activities:
- cooperation in the manufacture and assembly of machinery and equipment and the putting into operation of such machinery,
- cooperation on projects of interest to both parties in both countries and third markets,
- transfer and joint deepening of modern technology, especially licences and know-how,
- cooperation in the field of engineering, including services and training of staff.
2. Both sides will increase the favourable conditions for the wider participation of Danish companies in the development of all areas of Czechoslovak economic life and the participation of Czechoslovak companies in the development of all areas of Danish economic life.
AREAS OF COOPERATION
1. Taking into account the structure of the economy of both countries and the economic and social development programmes of these countries, both Parties agree that trade and economic cooperation should primarily focus on industrial production and agriculture.
2. The list of the items of this cooperation is specified in the Annex to this Long-term programme. However, the list does not exclude cooperation in other areas if such cooperation could be considered useful in achieving the objectives of the Long-term Programme.
3. Both parties will exchange important information on the conclusions and proper implementation of cooperation agreements.
IMPLEMENTATION
1. Implementation of this Long-term Programme shall be monitored by the Joint Commission established in accordance with Article 2 of the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark on Economic, Industrial and Technical Cooperation, signed on 9 November 1970.
2. The Joint Commission shall ensure that the Long-term Programme is implemented and developed in accordance with the needs of the national economies of both Parties. To this end, the Joint Commission shall in particular:
- monitor and evaluate the implementation of the long-term programme,
- to promote agreements between enterprises, organisations and firms in both countries and to identify and propose further cooperation options.
Entry into force and duration
1. This Long-term Programme shall be provisionally implemented from the date of signature and shall enter into force on the date on which both Parties exchange notes confirming that the necessary national legal requirements necessary for its entry into force have been fulfilled.
2. The long-term programme shall remain in force for a period of 10 years from the date of its entry into force.
3. If the Long-term Programme is valid for a period longer than the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Denmark on Economic, Industrial and Technical Cooperation, both parties will re-examine the Long-term Programme.
